E. WILHELM, Laureate 2017 of a L’Oréal-UNESCO “For Women in Science” Grant, October 2017

For 19 years, the L'Oréal Foundation has been committed, alongside UNESCO, to increasing the presence of women in scientific research. Every two years, this funding program awards three young female researchers, working in the domain of life sciences. By awarding prizes and scholarships, the L’Oréal-UNESCO foundation wants to encourage and support the careers of the most promising women scientists.

The 10th Belgian Reward Ceremony for the L’Oréal-UNESCO “For Women in Science” grants took place on Thursday October 5th 2017 at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Waterloo. Emmanuelle Wilhelm was one of this year’s laureates, along with Aurélie de Groote (ULB) and Mieke Metzemaekers (KULeuven). All of them are at the beginning of their PhD thesis and had been previously selected by the “Fond de la Recherche Scientifique” (FNRS) or the “Fonds voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek” (FWO).
